Resources 1, 2 and 3 cover various workshops lead by Step Up Enterprise Enablers over the past few years. They are a mix of both practical skills and fun workshops to be enjoyed by pupils. We hope the resources will help teachers and practitioners to deliver these workshops in their schools.
Resource 2 covers:
Self-employment – find out about self-employment, who has done it in the past and been successful and how can you get started.
Fairtrade – This is a six week programme aimed at 11-16 year olds. The sessions are broken up into fun interactive hourly sessions incorporating a variety of enterprise skills. The programme aims to broaden young people’s knowledge and awareness of a variety of aspects relating to fair trade. The programme challenges young people’s beliefs and explores the benefits of fair trade, moral and ethical issues understand pricing and the variety of roles involved in fair trade from growing to selling. The programme finishes off with an opportunity for young people to plan a campaign and how to promote fair trade.
Marketing, Branding and Advertising – This session is for 11- 16 year olds. This session looks at a brief introduction to marketing, branding and advertising and shows some examples in everyday life. The session can be linked to anything being currently created or made in Science, Design and Technology or Art such as soaps, shampoo’s, hand bags etc. The session takes students through these three basic concepts using a handbook and finishes with the students creating their own advert.
Social Enterprise Training – find out about social enterprise, what’s involved and take part in some social enterprise challenges!
