Hair and make-up artist to the stars, now living in Australia.
“I spent two years studying Hair and Beauty Therapy at Bradford & Ilkley Community College. I made lots of good friends and still have contact with a few, but think I am the only one who migrated to Oz!
After College I did my final two years in a salon in Bradford called Christopher and Paul’s before I went to work for myself for five years. I was given a government grant to set up the business and I was one of the first mobile hairdressers in the area. As well as enabling me to work doing something I enjoyed, my City & Guilds also helped me when I then decided to apply for residency in Australia.
I studied make-up, including special effects in film and photography, at Mask Make-up Studios out here in Oz. The rest is history. I am now self-employed as a freelance make-up artist and hairdresser working for film, TV, photo shoots and weddings. I currently work on lots of different shows in Oz for Channel 7, Channel 10 and Foxtel.
I have also had the privilege of working on movies including Star Wars Episode 3, Narnia and Superman. The photo is of me with one of my characters from Narnia. My career has led me to meet all sorts of wonderful and exciting people. I absolutely love it! I have worked with many stars such as Ewan McGregor, Sir Anthony Hopkins, Matt Damon, Antonio Banderos, Natalie Portman, Cate Blanchett, Christopher Lee and Jerry Seinfeld, plus sports and music personalities."
