A charity which works with disadvantaged young people in Bradford is calling on the public to help it win up to £50,000 in lottery cash.

The Brathay Trust, based at the Young People’s Support Unit in Barkerend Road, has made it into the regional final of ITV’s The People’s Millions competition.

The organisation, which wants funds for a garden allotment area which will help disadvantaged young people in the area learn about healthy living, cookery, recycling, gardening and recycling.

The charity will go head-to-head in a public vote with a project from Sheffield for the cash on the 25th November. During the ITV Yorkshire’s regional evening news on the 25th a short film will be shown explaining the aims of the allotment scheme, which will be built at the Greenwood Youth and Community Centre in the Swainhouse Estate.
