City Park work begins for young people in the district

A project made up of 30 year 8 students from Challenge College and Titus Salt was launched yesterday. Their role is to be ambassadors for the project and they spent yesterday learning about the vision for Bradford's regeneration and in particular the city park project.

They will be learning a variety of skills over the next academic year such as interview techniques, carrying out surveys, filming, / media techniques because they will be documenting the construction and changes to the city centre over the course of the project.

The final product will be a DVD produced by the students and a showcase of their work in June 2010.

In addition to their filming they are working with Bradford Artist Tim Curtis to produce artwork and poetry for the mirror pool hoardings.

Schools, students, youth groups, and organisations that wish to be involved in using the City Park as an educational opportunity should e-mail karenna.wood@bradford.gov.uk.
