b someone for your Future Launches its Second Strand at 13 – 19 year olds
The second strand of the b someone campaign was launched on Wednesday 14th October at the Norcroft Centre, University of Bradford. Young people from across the district were invited to participate in the launch. There were many young people from schools such as Chapel Grange and Queensbury who nominated speakers to talk about what they had achieved and what they want to aspire to. We were also lucky enough to have a host of young people sharing their inspirational stories, including the Captain of Bradford City, Zesh Rehman, and Harry Potter Star Matthew Lewis, who plays Neville Longbottom. The event was a great success and the feedback has been incredible with many schools wanting to carry the message and momentum back to the classroom. The second strand of the campaign, b someone for your future, focuses on the benefits for young people of taking responsibility for their own educational attainment and skills development, supported by parents, teachers, training providers, and local employers. Their are four campaign messages: - Build your skills, your life, your development
- Discover your talents, your life, your invention
- Learn to earn, your life, your epic
- Play to win, your life, your soundtrack
- Your life, your choice.
