Still time to nominate!

Nominations will now be accepted until Friday, 4 February 2011.

Now in its fourth year, the awards recognise the achievements of young people in the following categories

* be healthy

* stay safe

* enjoy and achieve

* make a positive contribution

* achieve economic wellbeing

The themes reflect the outcomes of the Every Child Matters agenda and each theme will have two awards, one for young people under 11, and one for young people aged 11-25 years old.

Nominees should have been involved in or developed a programme or piece of work that reflects one of the themes and be a positive role model for young people in the district.

The awards support the district's b someone campaign which encourages young people to succeed, improve their skills and fulfill their potential.

Coun Ralph Berry, Bradford Council's Executive member for Children and Young People's Services, said: "There are so many young people out there who are an inspiration, not only to their peers but to all of us. These awards recognise the good work that young people do in this district and celebrate their achievements.

"If you know of a young person who deserves recognition, then please get in touch and nominate them for an award."

The award winners will be announced at a special celebration event in St George's Hall on 9 March 2011.
